Helping People In Recovery Find Direction and Purpose In Sobriety

YOU’RE SOBER…

Now What? You’ve made the choice to get sober, and now you can choose to create the life you’ve always wanted by taking the actions necessary to get there.  It all starts by aligning your direction with your purpose, and that’s exactly what I do as a coach.  I founded Your Purpose In Recovery to help people in sobriety find their purpose and figure out exactly what they need to do to get there.

WHAT DOES FINDING YOUR PURPOSE MEAN?

Finding your purpose means making a connection between what you do and what you are passionate about.  For many people that means finding a career or a job that they connect with on a deeper level, others find their purpose elsewhere and keep that work separate from their careers.  For a lot of us, the ultimate goal is to be able to make a career out of our passion. We all want to love what we do, and I want to help you figure out how to make that happen.

ABOUT MY PROCESS.

As a coach I specialize in helping people in recovery identify their purpose and determine the direction they’d like their life in sobriety to take.  I work with clients in a one on one setting using proven coaching methods to clarify exactly how they would like their future to look, and help create a plan of action to accomplish it.  During each session I help clients determine the specific actions they will take in order to help move them closer to their stated goal and alignment with their purpose.  I also partner with clients to set up a system to hold them accountable in whatever way best suits their needs.

I begin all my coaching relationships with an introductory call that allows prospective clients to get a feel for who I am and how I work along with asking any questions they have about coaching, working with me, or their expectations.

If you’re in recovery and you’d like to lead a more fulfilling life that aligns with your values and your passions then working with me as your coach can help you get there. You can read a little about my personal experience below, but if you’d like to hear about my journey and how I found my purpose in more detail download my free guide to finding your direction and your purpose at the bottom of this page.

ABOUT ME.

I found my purpose helping people become the best versions of themselves and making positive changes in their lives. For me, it took a lot of trial and error, and quite a few discouraging attempts that led nowhere. When I think back on the years I spent unsure of what to do, or which way to turn, I recognize how helpful coaching could have been for me. My hope is that I can help you avoid some of the pitfalls and dead ends that I experienced on my journey so you can find your purpose and direction more quickly and with less frustration.

When I got sober as a teenager in 1995 I had no idea what I was going to do next. Luckily, I didn’t have to know, I was a kid. I hadn’t even finished high school yet. Over the next 25 years I had lots of jobs and explored various career options, but I never found my niche. It was a chance encounter with an old roommate from college that set me on the path that would help me find my direction and purpose.

I began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a way to stay in shape. I didn’t expect that a Martial Arts practice would introduce me to powerful process of personal development, but that’s exactly what it did. With the help of my mentors, instructors, and training partners I learned how to focus on my goals and follow through in a way I had never done before. The change I experienced was so profound that I became inspired to teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu myself, helping others access the transformational possibilities of hard work and discipline.

After nearly a decade training and teaching Martial Arts I began to look for more impactful ways to help people. I had always been committed to working with others in recovery, and becoming a Coach offered an opportunity to combine my passion for helping others with my experience facilitating personal growth. In 2018 I began my coach training and in the fall of 2019 I was accredited as a Certified Professional Coach. I founded Your Purpose In Recovery specifically to help other people in sobriety create meaningful and fulfilling lives for themselves. If you can identify with these feelings, and you’d like your life to be in alignment with your values, then working with me as your coach may be the next right action in your recovery.
